Bio: Jane used to own and run an antiques and rare book store in Portsmouth, NH. She now lives in New York City with her husband and four cats. Consigned to Death, an "Antiques Roadshow" for mystery fans, is the first in a traditional mystery series (St. Martin's Minotaur).
Possible topics: Antiques Settings as Character: This topic facilitates a discussion about whether a setting can be so central to a book that it becomes, essentially, a character in the story.
The Politics of Stolen Art: A Legacy of the Holocaust: In Consigned to Death, art stolen by the Nazis that surfaces in America is central to the story. The complexity of returning art to its orginal owners, and the politics involved, is fascinating.
Changing Careers After 50: How to set goals and achieve them—baby step by baby step. Related topic—how to write and sell your first mystery.
Fees: Negotiable
