Short Story Submission Guidelines

Murder By The Book, the Southwest Chapter's long-time partner and conference vendor, sponsors the $100 prize money for the winning entry.

Who Can Enter: You have to be a member of MWA but you DO NOT have to attend the conference.

Length: 1000-5000 words

Type: A mystery in any subgenre (hardboiled, cozy, historical, and so on)

Deadline: Submissions must be mailed/postmarked by May 1, 2008, to the following address with "Short Story" written on the envelope:

MWASW Conference Chair, 1393 Shadow Creek Drive, Fairview, TX 75069.

Format: Double-spaced in standard manuscript format. Number the pages in the footer; place the title of the story at the top of the first page and in a header. (Do NOT put your name on the story.)

Cover Sheet: Your entry must include a separate cover sheet with your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, word count, and the title of your story.
